It’s my Seventh Year Blogiversary

Sharing is caring!

7th blogiversary Today is my 7th Blogiversary! I can’t believe it’s been seven years since I published my first post way back on August 15, 2007. Time sure flies when you’re having fun and I have to admit, I’m still having fun so I’m going to stick around for a while!

I want to thank all my fellow bloggers for all their support as well as all my loyal readers and subscribers, I appreciate each and every one of your comments and personal emails.

Thank you for those who “like” Proud Italian Cook on Facebook, I’m very close to 11,000 which is mind blowing to me.  Thank you to all those who have “pinned” any of my recipes on Pinterest, many of them have been pinned over and over again, and speaking of Pinterest, I just found out the other day that Ivanka Trump pinned my grilled artichokes on her entertainment board, it always amazes me because you just never know who’s looking at your photos!

I recently got on Instagram  after my daughters urging and I’m so glad I did because I’m really loving it even though I’m still learning how to do hashtags and everything else, so please feel free to follow me if you want to see what I’m up to on a daily basis.

Thank you to my family and close friends for all your support and especially my husband Tony, my number one fan!

  35. Congrats on your SEVEN YEARS anniversary! And a huge thank you for opening up my mind to Italian food. Although my grandmother was from Northern Italy, I still considered Italian food to be gloppy and pretty bad lasagna and spaghetti with store-bought pasta sauce (boo!), and ground beef. In other words- GAH! Because of Proud Italian Cook, Italian food at my house is now fresh, interesting and DELICIOUS. So THANK YOU! And please keep sharing!

  36. Hi. BRILLIANT!! You make a Proud Italian Cook out of every one. I love your blog, made one of your recipes today. Always get wonderful comments on your food. I love your easy way of explaining a recipe. I have gotten in the habit of making a large batch of roasted vegies each week.
Keep up the good work, know you are watched.

  37. May this lucky 7th year bring you many more years of blogging!! I have immensely enjoyed your blog and all the delicious recipes you share. Your use of fresh ingredients inspires me and the colors you use and combine always makes my mouth water! My most recent favorite recipe was “Zucchini Noodles with Slow Roasted Tomatoes and Cream”. Wow! Nutritious AND delicious! My boyfriend and I purchased a Spiralizer and have been in love with it ever since! Thank you for introducing us to such a great cooking tool! I thoroughly enjoy all of your recipes, but if I had to choose something I would like to see more of it would be some awesome breakfast recipes. I know you have done plenty in the past, but I love seeing new and unique breakfast recipes to impress my Italian boyfriend when I get to cook for him Saturday mornings! Keep up the fabulous work!

Time flies when we’re eating well. And we are, thanks to you. The photos of your food always look so incredible. Better yet, your instructions are easy to follow and lend my preparations to be successful and delicious. Grilled Pesto Shrimp was the first recipe of yours I tried. I have never turned back. Thank you Marie!!
On another note, my husband and I visited Chicago for the first time this past June. And it won’t be our only visit. It’s a beautiful city with a rich, interesting history. The architecture is incredible! We had a fabulous time. Before we left (from North Carolina) I downloaded the photos from your “acting like tourists” with your family from Florida and we made certain we went to the same spots. We searched out and enjoyed the iconic Chicago foods you have praised. We had a scavenger hunt of sorts, following your “clues”. Unfortunately, we were told the 26ft Marilyn has retired to Florida.

  59. pat broussard says

congratulations !!!!! Love your recipes, keep up the great job.

Well, the kids really don’t love the eggplant I put in the torte, but oh well, that means more for hubby and I :)! Thank you for all of your inspiration!

  64. Congratulations. I really enjoyed your summer dinner suggestions recently. I am SO tired of hot kitchens, and your plates inspired me.

  65. I just found you a few months ago, but these past 8 weeks have been filled with new, beautiful things to eat. Tonight is the tomato tart. Sunday will be the zuchinni noodle with tomato cream sauce (made with my newly arrived spiralizer)! Happy Anniversary!

And the simplicity of of your recipes is a great motivator. Plus I appreciate the love of good food and the detail you devote to food presentation associated with your posts. So much so that even tho I constantly tap into bloggers for food and presentation ideas- yours is the first one that I signed up to follow 🙂 So thanks for being there!

  73. Happy Anniversary. I can’t believe I have been reading your blog for that long. I wrote you an email years ago about serving your Peach Gazpacho and your White Bean Hummus with Homemade Pita Chips at a supper club I was in at the time. You were so very nice to write me back. 77. I’ve only recently discovered your site, but I absolutely love it and follow you on Pinterest, too . I’ve made the stained glass pasta and , in fact, I’m making it tomorrow for a dinner with some of my gal-pals. I love the simplicity of your basic pasta dough, which has now become my go-to standard. I’ve also tried your Corzetti instructions with good success – a few ovoid, rather than round, corzetti but they were still tasty. And for my husband’s birthday in February, I made the Caprese ravioli – so easy compared to traditional ravioli! Congrats on your blog-o-versary!

Love, love, love your blog! Today is the feast day of Santa Maria, a tradition followed in my father’s home town in Italy and one which we have continued to follow here in the USA. Many, many happy memories in my life of this celebration. Today I’m making our traditional Torta from potatoes, basil, cheese and tomato sauce. Yum!!!

Keep the blogs coming. You inspire me!! Your techniques and descriptions are easy to follow and the photos help tremendously. It’s like cooking with my mother. Much love being sent your way. xox

Congratulations on making thousands of people happy for 7 years. You never cease to amaze me. “A picture is worth a thousand words” goes without saying. And . . . this is surely reflected on your site. I just had guests over to try your most recent recipes. I purchased extra large sea scallops at Sam’s club and used my new mortar and pestle to make the pesto for the Pesto Stuffed Scallops and made it exactly as you did. As an accompaniment your Tomato Tart with Brown Rice Crust
was great with the Scallops. The scallop dish was incredulous and the entire meal was stupendous. Naturally a couple of bottles of great Italian wine was served and after cleaning up a bit, we all enjoyed what I consider the best Limoncello you can buy, which is Ventura, hand made in Ventura, California. It is now sold in Florida. Looking forward to many more years of
your lovely site. Wishing you and your family the Best.

  158. Cyndee Reynolds says

Happy anniversary! I love your blog! I have used many of your recipes and your pesto is a mainstay at our house. I made your pesto scallops just last night and they were sensational!
