I’ll Be Detoxing Until 2010!

Sharing is caring!

I thought I’d leave you with a little visual of why I’ll be eating nothing but salads all week.
My refrigerator is stocked with all kinds of veggies and various forms of greens.

And these are some of the reasons why!

And it was all repeated the next day with the leftovers!

I won’t even mention the desserts and cookies!
See you all soon.

  1. Those bacon wrapped green bean bundles look great!

  2. We’ve already been pushing off the “going to start going back to the gym” date…. it was supposed to start Monday, then Tuesday, it will now have to wait until after new years! Happy New Year to you and yours Marie.

  3. I’m with you! As of Saturday I was totally craving a big healthy salad or something with lots of fiber like a big bowl of lentil to detox! But I still had one more family party to get through that day. Fortuntely I am back on track and loving it now 🙂

  4. That is quite a meal!

    Happy Detoxing Marie!
    LL

  5. A great excuse to have salads for months to come. The Proud Italian Cook household knows how to do it up right!!

  6. Oh, I am chuckling! I have been in detox for two days, already! I’m almost afraid to post what I’ve been cooking– from salmon en croute with duxelles to the duck breasts… I hear you and I feel your pain! Still, these are gorgeous dishes!
    I’m off to exercise!

  7. Beautiful food, Claudia! Everything in moderation, right? Love those artichokes. Buono anno!

  8. Hehehe! I’m right there with you, but won’t start my detox until the 4th also. Going to my mother’s for New Year’s Eve – her lasagna after my Christmas lasagna!!!
BTW – those green bean bundles are going to be on my list to try after the detox, so I’ll look forward to more than one detox, LOL!!!
Happy New Year and all the best to you and yours. Love reading your blog!

  9. LOL. Tonight was our first night of none leftovers, assuming you don’t count the croutons made with leftover homemade bread. I understand you desire to detox.
Why do I have a loaf of Panettone Bread in my kitchen. My dad knows I like it and brought it over for me. The way I look at is yes I will over eat. But it is not like we eat this food all year. I will not make another prime rib until next year. And I will not have Panettone Bread until next December when God willing my dad will bring me some. Live for today. I will detox in January. Thank God for elastic waistbands.

  10. Oh, yes, been there, done that. With the lasagna, antipasto, spiral ham, scalloped potatoes, corn casserole, and various degenerate desserts that others foisted upon us gone, we’re getting back to our routines, too. No regrets. Those artichokes are calling my name!

  11. I will be doing something similar on my blog – but with sweets – so i just laughed and laughed. The only pasta I have had since Christmas has been tossed with spinach or chard! Happy Green Week!

  12. Happy Holidays! Everything looks so delicious!

  13. I feel your pain, Marie. I’m about ready to check myself into foodie rehab.

But maybe there’s room for one more buffet. I hope you and your family have a very Happy New Year!

  14. I thought the same thing until I came to work and saw all of the cookies and chocolates my coworkers had given me as gifts that I hadn’t taken home last week. Oh well.

The lasagne looked amazing. I saw some green stuff in your photos there too. It’s all good.

  15. Everything looks absolutely delicious! I am in much need of detoxing as well… but I still would love a piece of that meatball lasagna! Happy New Year!

  16. I am right there with you! There is a time when enough is enough.

  17. LOL! I am finishing the last of Christmas Eve’s “Feast of the Seven Fishes” leftovers tonight –I overcooked as usual, but it has been blissful eating it all!

I hope you have a very happy and healthy 2010 filled with many blessings, Marie! I look forward to another year of amazing recipes from you!

  18. Oh I feel your pain because I have it too!! Everything of course looks wonderful, as always!!

    xoxoxo’s

  19. Green beans wrapped in bacon????

My detox post starts on Monday, 1/4
At least you have something green on your menu!

    Happy New Year!
    xxoo

  20. Everything looks wonderful and I understand your predicament. But there are still lots of leftovers and more parties to attend, so the detox can’t start until Jan. 3. But it has to happen. Happy New Year friend.

  21. Looks like you had a great Christmas, indeed! I’m ready for those salads, as well.

  22. Oh it all looks so good…especially those green beans bundles.

  23. I hear you loud and clear…I’m on my way out to stock up on veggies for healthy meals. It’s not easy being an Italian at the holidays, but it’s oh so tasty!

    Happy New Year.

  24. Oh yum!!! Gotta love meatball lasagna
